Card Meaning
The Tower is the most dramatic shock and awakening on the Fool's journey, symbolizing sudden upheaval, collapse, and the complete disintegration of old structures. Lightning strikes the tower and figures fall into the abyss, reminding us that lives built on false beliefs and denial will eventually crumble, and this seemingly destructive crisis is often the very beginning of true spiritual awakening.
Upright
Upright The Tower: energy flows openly; act with clarity and confidence.
Reversed
Reversed The Tower: resistance or imbalance; pause and realign your approach.
Symbolism
Lightning splits the tower in two, the crown tumbling from its summit symbolizing the shattering of arrogance and false authority. The man and woman leaping from the flames represent the forced departure from an old comfort zone, while the twenty-two golden sparks scattered in the background hint at a deeper cosmic revelation hidden within the destruction.
