Fire over wood: Ding; the noble person thus corrects his position and consolidates his mandate. — There is fire above wood, symbolizing the cauldron cooking; the noble person should correct his position and consolidate the mandate of Heaven.

Interpretation

The Ding hexagram symbolizes the cauldron, breaking the old and establishing the new. In career matters, it is a new beginning, primordially auspicious and successful; in relationships, the bond is as stable as a cauldron; in decision-making, like the cauldron in its proper position, stable and centered, one can undertake great responsibilities; all things are auspicious.
